Around 6:00 p.m., a grass fire started near North 18th Street and Dreher Street. Emergency responders are currently responding to the incident and smoke is visible across downtown Sacramento.

The fire broke out on E. Levee Road, south of W. Elverta Road, around 2:15 p.m. This area is just north of Sacramento and on the west side of Rio Linda.

Sacramento area’s July 4 weather was cooler but still saw over 100 fire incidents reported to dispatch. Crews handled grass, residential, and structure fires.
