The lure of flag football Olympic gold will be strong for NFL stars like Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson. But is the injury risk too problematic?

On Tuesday at the NFL Owners meetings in Minneapolis, the owners passed a resolution, 32-0, that will allow league players to participate in flag football during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

NFL owners voted on Tuesday to allow players in the league to participate in the flag football competition at the upcoming 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The resolution indicates the 32 clubs will allow up to one of their players to play on each country’s team. The NFL’s international pathway players will also be allowed to participate without restriction.

No more than one player per NFL club would be permitted. Olympic rosters will be selected by the national committee for each country.
