The suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Kylee Monteiro faced a judge Wednesday morning where prosecutors recounted Gregory Groom's confession in the incident to Rehoboth police.
Gregory Groom, of Rehoboth, confessed to police that he stabbed Kylee Monteiro multiple times with a kitchen knife, according to prosecutors.
"Ms. Montero texted a sister that, 'He threw me on the ground and pulled my hair and strangled me. My phone is at 4% and if I die, it was Greg,'" a prosecutor said in court. Prosecutors say Groom was initially charged with assault and battery of a pregnant woman, intimidation of a witness, and domestic assault and battery.
