Cruz, coming off the first multihomer game of his career in a victory over Milwaukee on Friday night, continued to give the Brewers trouble in Pittsburgh.

A day after the Pittsburgh Pirates' front office declared its intention to keep ace Paul Skenes for the long term, the right-hander will get the start Friday against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers.

He was on his way to changing that Friday after departing the game with a 2-1 lead through six innings, but the Pirates' bullpen gave Milwaukee the lead in the seventh before the team's offense clawed its way back to win the game in extras.
