The Chicago Sky got off to a brutal start in the 2025 WNBA season. They dropped their opening matchup against their rivals, the Indiana Fever, by a lopsided score of 93 to 58.

On Friday, the WNBA and Chicago Sky released statements that there is “no space for hate” in women’s basketball. Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports apparently does not agree with the WNBA on that stance.

The Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry has captivated the WNBA as well as professional sports over the last few years. After the two met in the National Championship Game while they were playing at Iowa and LSU years ago, Clark and Reese both entered the league as highly regarded talents and have since brought more attention to women's basketball.

When Reese got up, she tried to confront Clark before Indiana center Aliyah Boston stepped in between the two players. Clark’s third personal foul was upgraded to a flagrant 1 while Boston and Reese each drew technical fouls following a replay review by the referees.

"We don't want to limit (Reese) just to being a rebounder, because she's so much more than that, her potential is so much more than that.”

Angel Reese recently reposted a video onto her TikTok account that said she is "unsafe" when playing against Caitlin Clark and the Fever in Indiana.
