Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) announces four new new container capabilities designed to help develop, deploy, and scale modern applications.

He also announced a container deployment service called AWS Fargate, which allows customers to specify containers the same way they specify virtual machines with the flagship EC2 compute service.

Some customers had already been running Docker containers in the AWS environment, Duffy said, by using the Docker daemon and handling all management, scheduling and deployment tasks manually.
