Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard has completed a transfer to Arsenal, the north London club announced on Thursday. The midfielder spent six years at Brentford and played a key role in establishing the west London side in the Premier League following their promotion in 2021.

It’s not a particularly flashy signing, but he’s an experienced, Premier League-ready addition to the depth chart at #6 — he fills a roster need effectively and inexpensively. He’ll wear the number 16 shirt at Arsenal.

Arsenal continue to strengthen their midfield this summer. After securing the services of Martin Zubimendi, the Gunners have officially announced the arrival of Danish international Christian Nørgaard from Brentford.
