NJ Transit and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen reached a tentative deal Sunday that will end the strike.

A strike that shut down all NJ Transit rail service on Friday has ended, with full service scheduled to resume Tuesday morning, according to state officials and the union representing locomotive engineers.

NJ Transit resumed rail service this morning after a four-day shutdown because of a strike by engineers, with the first scheduled move a 3:47 a.m. Northeast Corridor line departure from Trenton to New York.
