In iOS 16, iPhone users can finally — finally — change the lock screen's clock font and color. It may seem minor, but for iPhone users who've never had any customization, it feels long overdue.

Widgets are an important part of the new lock screen experience on your iPhone, but the entire setup starts with being able to customize your wallpaper and the clock.

In iOS 16, Apple has introduced a variety of customization options for the iPhone Lock Screen, including the ability to add widgets and style the look of the digital clock.

Among the new changes you can make to the digital clock readout on the Lock Screen, Apple now allows you to switch the time display from Arabic numerals to Arabic-Indic symbols.

But one simple change is that the Lock Screen font is now customizable too. By default, iOS 16 uses a new thicker font weight for the time on the lock screen.

On the iPhone Lock Screen, iOS 16 offers two types of widgets: circular and rectangular – which sit below the time display – and an inline widget, which appears as a bar above the clock.
