Roger Federer retained his US Open title with a hard-fought 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7/1), 6-1 victory over 35-year-old Andre Agassi in the men's singles final in New York today.

Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer share the record at the New York Grand Slam, which has been won by 30 different men since the first Open edition in 1968.

7: The age Alexander Zverev was when Federer won his first US Open in 2004. The German beat Federer in the finals of Montreal earlier this month and is widely seen as an outsider for the title.
