Arduino announced a single-pair Ethernet adapter board for its Uno R4 single-board microcontroller at Electronica this morning.

The problem with using it along with Arduino-based gadgets is that you then need to use something like an Ethernet shield to provide the network connection.

The Ethernet shield gives the user a great interface from the Arduino to the outside world and is on my personal list of shields to buy.

There is also a “Cloud Flash” feature to program networked-enabled devices like the Arduino Ethernet or Arduino & Ethernet Shield.
