Republicans at the United States House of Representatives stayed up all night to pass their multi-trillion-dollar tax breaks package, with Speaker Mike Johnson defying the skeptics and unifying his ranks to muscle Presi-dent Donald Trump's priority bill to approval on Thursday.

The bill, passed by a single-vote margin, would fulfill many of Trump's populist campaign pledges. All of the chamber's Democrats and two Republicans voted against it. One Republican missed the vote because he had fallen asleep.
