(Reuters) -European equities were little changed on Thursday as investors awaited updates from the Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole symposium for clues on the path of monetary policy. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was flat as of 0704 GMT, while most major bourses were mixed.
The annual Jackson Hole Economic Symposium takes place later this week. It will attract policymakers from around the world and feature highly anticipated remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Powell's speech at Jackson Hole will set the tone for policy through the rest of this year. BofA says the speech will drive big swings in these stocks.
Gold prices fell on Thursday, pressured by a firmer dollar, while investors looked to the U.S. central bank's annual Jackson Hole symposium later in the day for further policy cues.
