CVS Health Corp. raised its profit guidance for the year after posting strong results in its health insurance and pharmacy businesses, an encouraging sign after a spate of missteps by rival insurers.

It also covers nearly 27 million people through its Aetna insurance arm.The company saw revenue growth of 10% or more in all three business segments. But adjusted operating income dropped more than 17% in its biggest business,
